Alp Mehmet

Alp joined Fipra in 2009 after a successful diplomatic career ending as British Ambassador to Iceland. Alp has 30 years experience in policy making at the heart of government, the UK parliament and foreign affairs. Alp has knowledge of Iceland’s economic, political and business life. Alp served in Iceland for 2 terms between1989 and 2008, Germany, Romania and Nigeria. Alp was Foreign Office Asia Spokesman when the media adviser to Foreign Secretaries Sir Malcolm Rifkind and Robin Cook during negotiations with China on the handover of Hong Kong. Alp speaks French, Icelandic, German, Turkish, Greek and Romanian.
