Andrea Fischer

Andrea joined Fipra in 2010 as a Special Adviser on healthcare issues. As an independant consultant in the healthcare sector, Andrea coaches CEOs of large pharmaceutical companies and recently organized a stakeholder process for her clients to discuss the controversial issue of patient communication by pharmaceutical companies. Andrea's clients have included Pfizer, BMS and Sanofi-Aventis. Andrea was German Minister for Health in Chancellor Gerhard Schröder's government from 1998 - 2001 having been a member of the German Bundestag from 1994 to 2002.  From 2001 to 2009 Andrea was patron of the Association of Psychiatry Experts. Andrea began her career as research assistant at the Science Center Berlin and later at the Federal Pension Fund. Andrea obtained a Masters degree in economics from the Free University Berlin in 1990 and completed vocational training as offset printer. Andrea is an active member of the Green party and speaks fluent German, English and French with working knowledge of Spanish and Russian.
