Andy Merrill

Andy joined FIPRA in 2006 as the Chief Executive of Finsbury US and therefore representative of FIPRA based in New York city. Andy has a broad range of communications experience with project experience including crisis communications for ImClone Systems, strategic communications for the eight dissident former executives of Morgan Stanley - the so-called "Group of 8" - to effect leadership and governance reform at the firm and for the mergers of Vivendi and Seagrams, InterBrew and AmBev and Molson and Coors. Andy also led US communications for Rio Tinto in its successful defense against BHP.  Andy was previously General Manager of Edelman's global financial communications practice, which he joined from Abernathy MacGregor, a strategic communications consultancy, where he was a partner. Prior to that, Andy was an investment banker for UBS and served as Director of Investor Relations for The Bank of New York. He is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and has an MBA in Finance from Columbia University.
