Grete joined the FIPRA group in 2003. Before becoming an independent public affairs consultant, Grete served in the Storting, the Norwegian Parliament. Grete was first elected to the Labour Party in 1981 and served in the Cabinets of three Norwegian governments, latterly as Minister of Industry, Trade and Shipping until 2002. Her network is extensive both nationally and internationally. She led the negotiations between Norway and the EU on many levels, offering a unique understanding of this relationship. Her first political appointment was as Under-Secretary of State for the Church, Education and Research. Prior to her political career, Grete worked as a Teacher and School Principal.
