Lorenzo joined FIPRA International in 2007 as a Special Adviser helping the FIPRA Group on regulatory affairs and risk management. Currently Lorenzo is the Policy Expert of the European Risk Forum and closely engaged in its current programme. Lorenzo has worked on regulatory reform and the risk analysis process in the European Union since 2002. Before joining FIPRA, Lorenzo has been a Policy Analyst with the European Policy Centre (an independent think tank based in Brussels) for five years. There he has served as the Coordinator of both the Better Regulation Programme and the EPC Risk Forum, a corporate-led expert group committed to improve the quality of risk-related issues in EU decision-making. In that position, Lorenzo has acquired a deep expertise on the interface between the private sector and public decision-making on the matter. Lorenzo is a PhD candidate at King’s College London since January 2004. He obtained his MA diploma in European Political and Administrative Studies at the College of Europe (Bruges) in 2002, writing his MA thesis on the role of Brussels-based think tanks in the EU decision-making process. Before working as Research Assistant at the European Parliament (DG Research/STOA, Division for Industry) in 2001, he graduated in Contemporary History and Economics at the University of Basel (Switzerland). Lorenzo speaks fluently Italian (native), English, French and German, and has a working knowledge of Spanish.
